How it started

I started this business because I’ve always loved being outdoors, running machinery, and building things. It all began when I was young, mowing lawns with a bicycle and trailer. After getting my driver’s license and buying my first truck, I kept investing in better equipment and growing the business.

Today, I’m proud to help homeowners create outdoor spaces that are built to last, while providing honest, quality workmanship on every job.

Kayden Edwards

One person accountable, start to finish

Most of what goes wrong on a residential project goes wrong in a handoff. The person who quoted it is not the person who runs it, the crew changes halfway through, and by the time something needs fixing nobody owns it.

Edwards works the other way. Kayden quotes the job, runs the job and answers for the job. On projects where Edwards is the contractor, permits, inspections and trade coordination are handled as part of the work, so the homeowner deals with one person rather than four. That is also why quotes come after an on-site visit rather than over the phone: ground conditions decide most of what a project costs here, and guessing at them is how contractors end up asking for more money halfway through.

What the reviews actually say

The 5.0 average across 20 reviews is worth reading rather than just counting, because the reviews describe a fairly specific pattern: work finished properly, and the owner taking pride in it.

  • “Kayden takes pride and satisfaction in the quality of work he does, from lawn care to landscaping.” RuthAnn Brydge
  • “He was friendly, professional, and took great pride in his work.” Helen Norman, on a home renovation and kitchen cabinet update
  • “The guys did a great job. Very happy with the end result. Highly recommend. Hard workers!” Mandy Bastien
  • “Great service, super quick to respond and show up.” Caitlin Bourque
  • “Very professional and more than competitive in pricing!” Jillian K

The reviews also show the range: lawn care and aeration at one end, full home renovations and kitchen work at the other, with landscaping and hardscaping through the middle.

Built for Northern Ontario ground

Freeze-thaw is the thing that decides whether hardscaping lasts here. A patio or driveway fails from underneath, not from the top, which is why the base work matters more than the pavers laid on it. The same logic runs through the rest of the work: drainage that moves water away from a foundation, footings taken below the frost line, and grading that accounts for what the ground does in April rather than what it looks like in July.

Ground conditions also change sharply across the service area. Rock sits at or near the surface across much of Muskoka, Sturgeon Falls is built on a sand delta ringed by clay plains, and Mattawa has bedrock arriving anywhere between 2.3 and 4.3 metres. That variation is documented community by community on the service area pages.

About FAQ

Questions about Edwards, answered

01

Who owns Edwards Landscape and Construction?

Kayden Edwards owns and runs the company. He quotes the job, runs the job and answers for the job, which is unusual in residential contracting where the person who sells the work is rarely the person who does it.

02

Is Edwards Landscape and Construction licensed and insured?

Yes, licensed and fully insured, and every build carries a 3-year workmanship warranty in writing. On projects where Edwards is the contractor, permits, inspections and trade coordination are handled as part of the job.

03

How many reviews does Edwards have?

A 5.0 rating across 20 Google reviews, with no review below five stars. The reviews span lawn care and aeration at one end through to full home renovations and kitchen work at the other.

04

What areas does Edwards serve?

North Bay is home base, and Edwards travels up to 150 km for the right project. That covers Callander, Corbeil, Bonfield, Mattawa, Sturgeon Falls, Burk's Falls, Huntsville and Muskoka.

05

Does Kayden do the work himself?

Kayden runs every project personally. Reviews reference a crew on larger jobs, but the point of accountability does not change hands partway through, which is where most residential projects go wrong.
